How to lose weight eating what you want

How to lose weight eating what you want

It’s all about shifting the negative judgments you hold over your body into self-acceptance and self-love. Once you are able to crack through those feelings of self-loathing and shame, you will WANT to feed yourself food that nourishes you! Releasing weight and normalizing your body size is a natural progression. On the other side of “dieting” lies freedom. Sometimes dieting is a comfort zone and the idea of letting up on the rules is daunting. Once you let up on all of your food “rules” (barring allergies and other necessities) you have the opportunity to find your OWN natural guidelines. I understand that it is scary and may even feel like “giving up” on yourself, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s a simple reframe. Turn “giving up” on yourself into “surrendering what isn’t working.” So the statement about losing the weight eating what you want is true, you can. Take the step. Turn “I have to” and I “can’t” into “I WANT to” and “I will.”   Need help? Message me HERE or check out ways to WORK WITH ME. Who is this Kelly and what’s her story? check me out...
How to change your diet

How to change your diet

I recently switched to a plant based diet, this is a huge change to the Paleo meat- infused lifestyle I was living. Why did I do it? I felt drawn to eating even more veggies and I also had a hard time cooking with meat. I didn’t like the feel of raw meat as I prepared it, and I also thought about the animals and their lives, especially the pigs, who are very intelligent beings. I had been made aware of traditional practices of “harvesting ” meat and the fear (terror) that was involved in the ending of the animal’s lives. This doesn’t include all of the farms, of course there are ethical smaller farms where they treat the animals with respect up until the end. This weighed on my mind though. I also was quite the germaphobe when it came to cleaning up after cooking with meat. I hate bleach, but felt like I needed it to thoroughly clean my work area and my hands.   Creating plant based meals is fun to me. I have my favorite cookbooks and mostly read them for inspiration to create my own dishes. I am so involved with the process of creating colorful and healthy meals it is not a temporary diet, it is a lifestyle change! I know you’ve heard that before. “It’s a lifestyle change.” This is what that means.   Planning your meals is key. I spend time each Saturday planning my week and my grocery list. I leave room for finding fresh and local veggies from the farmer’s market.   Sticking to the list. Walking by those...

I have a sense of accomplishment. you can too!

I did it!! I’m near the end of my dietary “cleanse” which was basically cleaning up my diet. It was NOT going on a diet, simply a reminder of what it feels like to eat clean. I an going to stick with it, with one exception, COFFEE, and I will follow the 80/20% rule so I am not so rigid that it is like a diet. It IS a diet, but it is my life. No processed foods, no gluten, no animal products, lots of veggies and connection to my food through regular preparation. A plant based diet. I feel proud of myself that I was able to stick with it and create a new habit. Since I am following the 80/20 rule, I will have the occasional egg and cheeses like Gorgonzola, Feta and Goat Cheese. For the last couple of years I was eating a lot of animal products and while I felt great, I gained a lot of weight. I am now losing. I haven’t stepped on a scale, I can just feel it. I may actually throw out my scale and go by how my clothes fit and not obsess over the numbers. How about you? How are you eating? What do you put in your body? Do you prepare your food? Or nuke it from a box? Does your diet make your body feel good? Do you eat a lot of vegetables?   Keys to success. Preparation!! Spend some time pre-cooking (or chopping ingredients) your meals. Make a big pot of soup, make some quinoa so it doesn’t take so long to prepare meals....
How to improve your life by changing your diet

How to improve your life by changing your diet

How important is your diet to your success? What kinds of food do you exist on? Do you have discipline in what you eat? Do you feel good about it? Do you cook at home? Or go out to eat for many of your meals or eat convenience meals? How do you feel about the way you eat? Do you even think about it?   I’m here to say that it is important to the success you will experience in your life and biz. If you treat your body as the temple it is and feed it nourishing food (even when you want to eat junk) then your body will repay you with health. You will experience confidence and will feel great on many levels. It even affects your business and the success you achieve…   I recently took on a nutritional challenge led by Melissa Costello of Karma Chow: The Vital Life Cleanse. I am playing full out. It is not starvation. It is not a cleanse where you exist on smoothies and juice for 30 days (and starve for real food.) It’s a cleanse from many of the SAD things we tend to rely on when we’re lazy about what we choose to eat. (SAD= Standard American Diet.) I have eliminated most animal products for 30 days. That means all dairy and meat. White things and even coffee/caffeine! Rather than focusing on what I can’t eat though, I am choosing to focus on what I CAN eat. Loads of veggies and Dandelion tea. Quinoa and good fats like olive oil, avocados and coconut oil. Nuts and seeds....
How to look and feel young: The Five Tibetan Rites

How to look and feel young: The Five Tibetan Rites

I recently had the pleasure of participating in a workshop on The Five Tibetan Rites, led by local yoga maven, Kim Leibowitz, and Physical Therapist Jennifer Hays, MPT. It was fun and very enlightening. We discussed the Chakra System and the subtle energy body and how by keeping that part of you healthy and clear, you can find the proverbial ‘Fountain of Youth.’ The Five Tibetan Rites are a way in which to achieve a healthy energy body, it is a discipline, practiced daily. It is easy to fit into your daily routine and I really wanted to share this information with those of you who aren’t familiar with The Rites. First of all, let’s briefly talk about the human energy body. The chakras are the power centers of the body. We have many of them, they correspond with major glands and are connected with the Meridian path through the body. Each Chakra has it’s own spin and frequency (frequencies produce colors, so each Chakra has a corresponding color.)  When your Chakras are healthy, you are healthy. When they are blocked (under-active) or over-active, there can be problems and it will affect your physical, emotional and spiritual health. In the Rites, focus is on the 7 major energy centers in the body. Subtle energy is the electromagnetic wavelengths, rates of vibration, patterns of pulsation.  Each person has unique patterns of energy that are directly related to their health and well being. Each person has a subtle body and it too can be clear and healthy, or cloudy, blocked and not as healthy and bright. The Rites also will help clear your subtle...
What if you have a variety of interests and are having a hard time finding focus?

What if you have a variety of interests and are having a hard time finding focus?

I don’t know if you have this issue, but I want to talk about how it is to have a variety of interests and talents. I want to share how I have folded them into my coaching practice in a way that works in my mission to help women see their beauty, to see the beauty around them and be able to step into their lives in a more powerful, confident and visible way.     I have so many things that I am interested in and some of them seem unrelated. For instance, I am a crystal healer,  I LOVE crystals and my knowledge base is wide~ From magical uses to all areas of health…but I am also a Tarotista (One who reads/studies and loves the Tarot.) I have also spent years studying herbal healing, both Eastern and Western. My knowledge base is pretty wide and I love, love love it! I am a Wellness Coach, I am a Beauty Coach, I help women find their beauty and let go of that pesky self loathing and shame. I am also  an Intuitive, I have several intuitive gifts and I also access the Akashic records (in my own way) and am able to bring my clients what they need to know. I also do Cord Cuttings, through which I access my intuitive gifts to help people release those unhealthy and toxic attachments to other people and situations. I love Magic (Magick) and all things spiritual. I am into the Law of Attraction, but I put my own spin on it (it involves inspired *action*) I am also into working...
