Is planning a necessary addiction?

Is planning a necessary addiction?

Every year at the transition from one year to the next we all tend to have the very best intentions for making life progress in the upcoming year. Usually these “resolutions,” “intentions,” or whatever you want to call them get swept away with the flurry of real life and the need to go back to our regular schedules and obligations which usually carry us far from out good intentions. One of the things that I have found is that we don’t have a backup plan, without one we are doomed to keep living our present patterns until perhaps a catastrophic life event propels you into forced change. Things like losing a job, divorce or breakup, a death or anything that feels like the Universe is dropping a cinder block on your head. Wouldn’t you love to be able to make changes empowered by your own choice? (conscious choice.)   Planning your backup plan I am an admitted planner addict. I spend my mornings setting the intention for the day, reviewing the day/week before. I review my schedule so I can physically and mentally prepare for the day. I look back on the things I didn’t accomplish yesterday (not to shame myself, but to either take them from my schedule or add them to the present day.) I plan my meals and ideally I keep track of my finances (one area of weakness for me.) If you regularly review those annual intentions. If you break them up into smaller tasks and plans to make them more attainable you are more likely to reach them. It is also important to realize...

What skills do you want to improve? There is always room for improvement, without it I become boring and no one cares because they experience the same things when they experience me. It’s the same with you. If you become predictable, eventually, people will not care and if they’re on your website or blog, they’ll click away. Don’t have a blog? Well, they just won’t care about connecting with you. Self improvement is so important. It feeds your soul and the souls of the people who come in contact with you.   What kind of things can you improve? Anything! I will share my current list, and maybe that will inspire you. Only you know what will enhance your personal life and experiences though, so I urge you to create a list. Make it a long list with lots of messy brainstorms, then you can edit and pare it down to the things that you want to improve in the next 6 months. That’s what I did. Here is my list of things that will enhance my life if I put some focus there, I don’t have to do them all at once, but just having it will remind me to constantly be improving myself.   1~ My coaching skills. My ability to walk with and assist others on their journeys. My ability to see their highest potential and hold the vision for them even when they don’t. It takes practice and focus. It also takes care and love. Relating to people and building rapport is something I ALWAYS want to have in my self-improvement list.   2~ My...
How to crush writers block and get your pen moving.

How to crush writers block and get your pen moving.

Do you journal? Do you love to write? I’m talking creative writing, poetry, all about your day, your feelings, list writing, blogging, writing copy for your business? I do all of the above and many times the words just flow out of me, other times not so much. I feel like blown out candles, with sparks still alive, but quickly and slowly dying. Beautiful smoke and a fragrance I love ( I live the smell of blown out candles,)  but words that make sense? Not so much. This morning I feel that way and it is frustrating because I have so much to say. I want to light those candles again, to bring the sparkle and flame back into the picture and write brilliant poetry, fiction, blog posts for you. I want to share tips, helpful information and inspired flow.           I want to dance with the flames of inspiration and allow my joy and uninhibited self to shine through. How? Well, sometimes it is time to rest and just go out and do things, experience life and get into things so you will have material to write out in any way you choose. This can be hard (it is for me.)   Here’s your assignment:   To help writers block, Go DO something, get away from your computer and cook, tidy up, go for a walk, listen to music, dance party in your living room, empty your mind. Experience life!   To help writers block, make lists. List things that bore you, reasons you can’t write, things you want to do before you die....

How to step into your role as a leader

How to step into your role as a leader

Do you have the desire to create and pull things together? Are you brimming with ideas? Do you always find yourself connecting people together with other contacts or organizations? Do you really want to teach a class? (maybe you have the courage, maybe not, but the desire is there.) Do you want to create a movement, and not just a business? Do you want to create a ‘center’ where many modalities of healing are brought together? Do you want to help others? Do you want to be your own boss and not answer to a “boss?” Have you, or do you want to quit your “day job” to work for yourself?   If you related with at least a few of those questions, you might be a heart centered entrepreneur. You also might have that Leader archetype in you wanting to be expressed.   Do you want to start or generate things? Are you guided to help or heal others? What’s stopping you? Where are you in this journey? Do you feel that you can embody your role as leader of others? Connecting and guiding and starting things?   ~Look the part/ have confidence~ First of all, you must look the part. Even if it is a glow from the inside, a confidence that shines through your expression. There is a quiet confidence that comes with certainty. People make judgments of you within seconds of meeting you. it’s true, sometimes we misrepresent ourselves by hiding behind baggy clothes, muted colors and  our lack of confidence shows in our face. It’s important to find your colors, the colors that resonate...
