Finding love and acceptance for your body

Finding love and acceptance for your body

Remaining open to the possibilities isn’t always easy. I know that. It’s easy to feel trapped and immovable by your circumstances. I want to assure you that change IS possible, you are able to change your situation by changing your actions in any area of your life.   How you do anything is how you do everything. This is true. If you want to lose weight, try losing resentment and finding forgiveness for another difficult situation in your life. Releasing in one area will release in others. This is true. Try changing the way you look at things.   How can you find love and acceptance for yourself and your body, regardless of shape or size? Try accepting another situation in your life. This will create a pathway for acceptance in all other areas of your life. This is an energetic truth. Sometimes you may need support. Accept support and help, and gifts from others. I know it can be a struggle. Accepting and receiving can be a challenge, but there are people out there who are willing and able to help you. In all areas of your life.   Want to love your body?   Find other ways to love yourself. Write a list of things you appreciate about yourself. Write out everything, even the tiny things or things that are easily taken for granted, like “I am grateful for my feet and legs because I can walk.” To find the beauty in your body, find beauty elsewhere. 13 things you can do when you feel depressed

13 things you can do when you feel depressed

Do you suffer from depression? I do, and I tell you, it can be a bitch! I’m not talking about having a “bad day” and situational depression, which we all have occasionally. I am talking about when the deep, dark cloud that follows you wherever you go and renders you useless, fatigued, low, and not caring about anything enough to take action. I am a fighter, and I have gotten through many a bout of the lows by burying myself in action and work, but don’t end up cooking, eat on an irregular schedule (and not healthy things) and I I neglect my surroundings by just leaving things around, and not having the order around me that I usually thrive on. For those who suffer from depression, it manifests differently.   I recently came through a particularly difficult bout with these demons as I often do in the winter when the sun is farther away and it is overcast for days on end. I did get work done and I was able to get by and serve my current clients pretty well. I was able to take care of others, but let myself go in many ways. I kept forgetting to eat, therefore had a very irregular schedule in both work and food (I usually thrive on schedule.) I stopped my workouts, which are one of my favorite things, noticed that I was gaining a bit of weight and though I suspected it was because of my irregular eating and poor choices (I am usually more of a health nut) when it was really because of something deeper.  ... read more
How do I change my attitude about eating healthy?

How do I change my attitude about eating healthy?

There is so much information out there about HOW to eat a healthy, whole food diet. There is so much inspiration and motivation out there but still you find yourself reaching for the convenience and “junk” foods. Why? Is it lack of discipline? What role does discipline play? Intuitive eating is a way to connect naturally with what your body wants. No foods are off limits and yes, you may have a few binges on unhealthy foods AT FIRST, when you start changing your attitude about food. When you make all foods OK, when you stop making food “bad” and stop the shame and restrictive attitude about your food a shift will eventually take place. Your choices will change. When it isn’t off limits you can always have it later, and there is not as much of a reason to binge… It will always be there for you! Discipline has it’s place, but really, you need to have this piece in place first, then discipline will feel good! This works only if this one piece is in place though: Love yourself and accept your body as it is. Love your body with a strong affection, appreciate your body’s service to you. It does so much, it is the vessel for your life and soul. When this part of you is in place, you want to treat your body like a temple, feed yourself whole and healthy foods that nourish you. You begin to want to eat foods that make you feel good rather than chemical laden junky foods that do nothing for you, empty foods with no soul. There... read more
How to have a private yoga practice

How to have a private yoga practice

I have recently renewed my commitment to myself, and yoga. Yoga puts me in touch with my body, mind and spirit. Ever since I have been practicing again I have felt more and more confident in my body. My Konmari regrets

My Konmari regrets

Recently I took on the challenge of Konmari, which is a method of decluttering based on a Japanese art and a book by Marie Kondo. It is an excellent process and transformational journey. I had been fascinated by it from the moment I saw the book. I wasn’t ready to take on that challenge for a while, but once I was there was no stopping me. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing. I was in quite a mood. My boyfriend had just left (maybe for good,) and I was in purge mode. I scoured the house. I got new sheets and even was able to snag new furniture for the living room and I rearranged the house and even cleaned the corners of the laundry room. I saw areas that had not been seen in a while, those areas that often get forgotten when cleaning house. I even cut my hair. I found Konmari and loved the idea of only having things that I loved and things I felt happy when I held. I loved the idea of living a life with less possessions and more clean space. I was leaving a huge part of myself behind. Parts of me that no longer made me happy. I took it on. I approached it as a spiritual practice and I began the process by putting all of my clothing, even the underwear and scarves, in piles and went through each piece reliving memories that some of them brought up. I was ready to leave parts of my persona behind in order to create... read more
Clean eating and confidence

Clean eating and confidence

What does clean eating mean to you? To me it’s all about eating real food. Nothing from a box or can, nothing with a long list of ingredients you don’t recognize and can’t pronounce. How does eating clean relate to self confidence? When you only ingest clean food you get used to the real flavors of what you’re eating and eventually those boxed meals become intolerable, full of sodium and they don’t make you feel good. When you only ingest clean food, you just feel good, and confident in who you are. You are light and fresh. Healthy and you also resist disease and balance out your body/mind and spirit. You feel strong and in control of your health. This as simple, nothing you don’t know, only a reminder. Do you find it easy to eat clean? What are your challenges with eating healthy? Are you having challenges? How is your confidence? Lacking? Can you make the connection between being in control of your diet and how it connects to being in control of your life? Remember, How you do anything is how you do everything! Making changes and becoming strong in one area of your life will have an effect on all areas of your life. Are you ready to take this journey? If you need help, if there are things standing in your way that you can;t quite put your finger on I am here to help you get to the root of it. I have had (and am personally navigating) experience. Having a coach has been invaluable. Who am I and what is my story? Read... read more
How to lose weight eating what you want

How to lose weight eating what you want

It’s all about shifting the negative judgments you hold over your body into self-acceptance and self-love. Once you are able to crack through those feelings of self-loathing and shame, you will WANT to feed yourself food that nourishes you! Releasing weight and normalizing your body size is a natural progression. On the other side of “dieting” lies freedom. Sometimes dieting is a comfort zone and the idea of letting up on the rules is daunting. Once you let up on all of your food “rules” (barring allergies and other necessities) you have the opportunity to find your OWN natural guidelines. I understand that it is scary and may even feel like “giving up” on yourself, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s a simple reframe. Turn “giving up” on yourself into “surrendering what isn’t working.” So the statement about losing the weight eating what you want is true, you can. Take the step. Turn “I have to” and I “can’t” into “I WANT to” and “I will.”   Need help? Message me HERE or check out ways to WORK WITH ME. Who is this Kelly and what’s her story? check me out... read more
Do you keep repeating the same patterns in your life?

Do you keep repeating the same patterns in your life?

I recently has a session with my lovely coach where we examined the stories and plots that had taken place in my life. This was not to get stuck in the past, but to examine themes that I had been acting out in my life. I had many powerful realizations about how many of these stories were on repeat, tethering me to painful plots with unhappy endings. Painful plots that left me feeling powerless to make any progress in my life. They affected my personal as well as my business life. Many of the habits I had been carrying were the result of my frustration of being immersed in the dramas of life. I looked around and saw others in their own stories. Sometimes our dramas would intersect. I had the breakthrough realization that I was living out the stories that weren’t even mine. These stories affected mine and left me confused, overwhelmed and stuck. I have added this powerful tool to the way I can help you create new plots and stories and get rid of the things that are holding you back. Grab them by the root and remove the deep cause of those destructive repeating stories. Do you find yourself repeating the same patterns in your life? It IS possible to interrupt that tendency. Did you know that you can erase the stories you are playing a part in? It is an effective way to change your whole life. If you are ready to let go of those stories you are attached to the way is cleared for a fabulous transformation for all areas of your... read more
